Epidemiology and Public Health

The goal of public health is to safeguard the health of entire populations. Epidemiology is the study and thorough examination of the causes, consequences, and patterns of diseases. It is the primary area of public health and alerts people to illness risk factors and potential treatment targets. The main goal of epidemiology is to develop a new understanding of how genetic and environmental factors interact to affect human health, laying the groundwork for communicating this information to the rest of the world. It is used to expand the definition of common ailments and health issues including obesity and high blood pressure.
